Propane LPG for everyday home use
Compass Gas supplies bottled propane, a form of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), from Penwortham near Preston. Whether you need a small patio bottle or a larger cylinder for a compatible heating or cooking setup, the first step is to identify your appliance, regulator, connection and existing bottle. We’ll then check availability and delivery for your full postcode.
BBQs and patio heaters
Our 6kg and 11kg patio propane bottles are intended for compatible outdoor appliances. Check the fitting specified for your barbecue or heater, and let us know if you have an empty cylinder to exchange. For outdoor use, follow the appliance manufacturer’s instructions and keep cylinders positioned as specified.

Heating, hot water and cooking off the gas grid
For an off-grid house or suitable outbuilding, bottled propane can be part of a properly installed heating, hot water or cooking system. The 47kg cylinder may suit higher demand home heating and cooking installations. A 19kg cylinder can suit some smaller cooking or heating setups. The correct size, regulator and changeover arrangement depend on the installed appliances and gas demand, so tell us what you currently use before switching.
Any fixed gas installation and fittings should be checked by an appropriately qualified professional. We supply cylinders and can discuss exchange; we do not assume your current regulator will fit a different bottle.

Static caravans, lodges and holiday accommodation
Holiday accommodation and some log cabins may use compatible 19kg or 47kg cylinders for cooking, heating and hot water. Some sites use paired bottles with changeover equipment to reduce interruptions. If you manage several units, tell us how many rely on gas, their existing setup and how demand changes during busy periods.

Touring, boats and specialist appliances
Some caravans, campervans and boats use propane for compatible cooking, heating or hot water. Cylinder sizes and fittings vary, and many camping appliances use different cartridges or fuel. Tell us the appliance, regulator, current bottle and where you need supply; we’ll check whether our listed range is suitable. We do not offer a universal camping refill or fuel for every gas appliance.
